Under a title and a set of front pages that seem to foreshadow a candid children’s book, there is a radical experience in mixing languages, in which a single narrative — Bibi’s trajectory — undergoes through drastic changes in styles, vocabulary, page layout, type of paper and visuals. Even the book’s title changes as the pages advance.

Rather than making the reading experience a crazy maze, “Bibi” elevates language mechanisms to the post of true protagonists of the work and discusses how the processes of creating and decoding objects are more preconditioned than we normally suppose, as well as they ultimately influence both the making of a book and its reading.

“Bibi” was published in 2019 by Lote 42.
